I was blown away by this exhibition. I was moved by the overlapping of bodies, the collage of bodies cut off in some places. The scale of the canvas’s and the paper she used was just right I thought. I felt there was the perfect amount of pieces being shown in the gallery. I liked her fluid use of charcoal with a splash of color with the use of pastel. I also liked the juxtaposition of suggestive line with detailed renderings of the body be it face, hands, feet, torso. I’ve seen her paintings before and I didn’t know what to expect of this exhibition as it was only drawings but I felt it more powerful somehow than the paintings I’ve seen of hers, perhaps because I saw and felt the since of her hand in the making. I’m interested to free up my drawing with charcoal and see what
